Hitesh Bhikabhai

Account Manager

Hitesh is our key account Manager in Auckland. Hitesh has a background in Power Distribution and Energy Management and has been in the electrical industry for more than 20 years, starting out as an electrician and later moving into sales.

Hitesh holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and has vast work experience and  knowledge with UPS, Solar Systems, DC Systems, Generator controls and Lightning/ Surge Protection in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Peter Lingley

Account Manager - North Island

Peter is responsible for understanding and delivering customer needs throughout the North Island south of Auckland. He brings thirty years of industry experience ranging across generation, transmission, distribution, and contracting operations. This experience ensures that Peter understands what is important to network operators and their contractors.

Currently living the dream in New Zealand Peter has previously lived and worked in the UK, Malaysia and a few more exotic locations such as Iran, Pakistan and Nigeria. Peter spends as much time as possible on foot or on a bike enjoying the best of New Zealand’s great outdoors with family and friends.

Mike Scott

Account Manager - South Island

Mike is responsible for key accounts with South Island distribution network operators and contractors.

He has been in the electrical industry for over 20 years, starting out as an electrician and later moving into sales roles encompassing the wholesaler, industry, OEM and HVAC segments.

Mike recently completed a Bachelor of Applied Management, and outside of work enjoys time on the golf course, fly fishing on the Ashburton lakes or west coast rivers, and is a mentor for young people with Big Brothers Big Sisters Christchurch.

Grant Smith

Technical Specialist Cable Accessories and Solutions

Grant started work in 1977 with Hutt Valley Power & Gas Board, as a Cable Jointer covering all facets of Underground Cable installations.

From 1997 to 2008 Grant worked with various brands of cable accessories providing product training and carrying out installations throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands up to 72kV.  Then in 2008 he Joined ABB Kabeldon Australia in Medium Voltage through to Extra High Voltage installations and cabling and terminations / Joints to <132kV.

Now with Hiko Power Engineering Grant is supporting our Cable Accessories & Solutions offering from Medium to Extra High Voltage inclusive of Low Pressure Oil / Gas inline and Stop Joints as well as the Full range of XLPE Cable Accessories up to 132kV.

When not working Grant enjoys traveling around New Zealand in his RV with wife Gill and dog Frankie.

John Spence

Production and Application Manager

John has worked in high volume manufacturing within the electrical and power electronics industries for over twenty years and brings a wealth of design and lean manufacturing knowledge to Hiko for our power engineering customers.

John is passionate about future energy needs and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and has designed and built his own electric car. He has a NZCE and B.Com, and is passionate about delivering safe, high quality products.

Jenny Wallace

Fulfilment Specialist

Jenny joined Hiko Power in 2005 in the warehouse operation team and now oversees the process and people who manage a customer’s order through the business, including manufacturing. Many of our customers make extraordinary requests and Jenny can translate them to our works instructions or part numbers and ensure we meet requirements and deadlines.

Jenny has a BA in Anthropology and enjoys watching test cricket.

Geoffrey Sullivan

General Manager

Geoffrey joined Hiko Power Engineering in 2005 as GM when there were 5 operating companies involved in manufacturing and importing in NZ and Australia. After a rationalisation process through to 2012 the company focussed on developing Intellectual Property for the Electrical Supply Industry.

Geoffrey enjoys working with the team, our customers, and our suppliers as we seek to decarbonise through electrification. Outside work he has supported a variety of school sports clubs, and remains involved with the operation of Temple Basin Ski Field.
